What a Private Yacht Charter Covers

A private charter means your group has exclusive use of the vessel for the agreed duration. No other guests board. The crew operates entirely for your group. The vessel does not pick up additional passengers at other marinas.

Our charter vessels range from 52 ft to 80 ft sailing catamarans with capacity between 15 and 45 pax depending on the vessel selected. All are registered under our marine passenger operating licence and carry the required marine passenger insurance.

The charter price covers the vessel and crew for the agreed duration. The menu : whether that's a buffet, a catered set dinner, or a dry event with canapés : is quoted separately based on your brief. This allows the charter to be configured for any occasion and dietary requirement.

All ocean activity equipment : floating mats, jacuzzi nets, paddleboards : is included as standard.

What the Route Looks Like

The default charter route follows Langkawi's western coastline south from the departure marina, rounding the Datai headland and anchoring in the protected waters between the main island and Pulau Dayang Bunting : the second-largest island in the Langkawi archipelago. This anchor point, approximately 45 minutes from departure, gives the full open-ocean sunset exposure on one side and the island landscape on the other.

Custom routes are available. Groups who want to visit specific coves, anchor near particular islands, or sail north toward the Thai border can request an alternative routing in the charter brief. We sail the same waters daily : our captain can advise on conditions and suitability for any proposed route.

For charter groups focused on the sunset, we calculate departure time based on the date you have selected. Sunset time changes by approximately 40 minutes across the year; we time the outbound sail so the anchor point is reached 30 minutes before the optimal horizon position.

The return sail after sunset runs approximately 45 minutes at cruising speed. Groups can extend time at anchor by adjusting the departure time : the charter rate covers the agreed hours.

How the Charter Day Runs

A pre-charter briefing : by phone or WhatsApp : confirms the group size, dietary requirements, occasion details, departure time, and any specific requests. We prepare the vessel, catering, and crew based on this brief.

Boarding begins 20 minutes before the agreed departure. The crew handles the safety briefing while the vessel is still in the marina. Once cleared, the departure takes approximately 15 minutes to reach open water.

The most common booking reason is an occasion that requires exclusivity. The difference between a shared cruise and a private charter is fundamentally the difference between a restaurant table and a private dining room.

Because you own the entire vessel for the duration, the experience can be shaped precisely. A couple can have a proposal setup waiting on deck. A corporate group can run a programme without concern for other guests' experience. A family can set the children's schedule without coordinating with strangers.

Charter Durations and Pricing Structure

Charters are priced by duration, not per person. The base charter rate starts at RM 2,500 for a 3-hour booking. Extended charters run at an hourly rate agreed in the charter proposal.

Catering is quoted separately from the charter rate. A buffet dinner for 20 pax runs approximately RM 60–100 per person depending on the menu selection. Drink packages : beer, wine, spirits, non-alcoholic : are quoted per person on top of food.

The total cost for a group of 15–20 people on a 4-hour sunset charter with buffet dinner and drinks typically comes to RM 150–200 per person : comparable to the shared sunset cruise rate, but with complete privacy and a customised experience.

Private yacht charters depart from three primary marinas in Langkawi. The departure point is confirmed in the charter proposal based on your group's accommodation location and the vessel selected:

All marinas have ample free parking. For large groups arriving in multiple vehicles, we can coordinate parking logistics in the pre-charter briefing.
